This Chick-lit and Romance book list includes YA that reads like chick lit or a romance book (aside from taking place in high school, obviously). In my opinion, a good book is a good book, and that’s that!

Chick Lit List

MissMatch by Erynn Mangum- Funny as all heck! I’ve gotten my mother and my niece hooked on this author using this book, and her novels are often referred to as the “coffee books”.

In Between by Jenny B. Jones- Also totally hilarious. This book/series is written by a junior high school teacher who seems to act younger than her students. Mad Maxine. ‘Nuff said.

Hollywood Nobody by Lisa Samson- Young girl who grows up on movie sets and seems to be on the run, but she doesn’t know who she’s running from.

Split Ends by Kristin Billerbeck- Almost an anti-chick lit. It has the same sassy tone as a chick lit, but the heroine just wants to be the best hairdresser alive. No matter what LA tells her.

Romance Book List

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen- because, duh? World’s greatest romance book ever?
